International Women's Day, 2025

8 March 2025

International Women's Day was founded in 1911, as a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. Today we are celebrating our athletes, whose inspiration reaches far beyond the sporting arena.

Beth Nicely has been a Broadway performer, Radio City Rockette and most recently, a New York City Marathon finisher. Beth ran the marathon to raise money for the Pink Agenda, a nonprofit focused on breast cancer awareness and research. When she isn't running marathons, she is running her own fitness studio. Beth's studio, The Limit, has dance cardio and HIIT classes taught by Broadway performers. Beth is a mother of one, with another little one on the way. Dancer, marathoner, mother, entrepreneur, all in a day's work for Beth!

Michelle Alexander, a Filipino runner in California, founded a running club in Fresno in 2012. She had no idea what her club would grow into over the next 13 years. The Bad News Bears Run Club now has nearly 500 members! The club's aim is to make walking and running fun. They volunteer at races, host events and support each other's fitness goals.

Trelle Dandridge will be racing her first Ironman in Texas next month. An Ironman is an enormous accomplishment for anyone, but for Trelle, she has the extra obstacle of doing it without her eyesight. Trelle lost her vision in a car accident, but is still able to do what she loves with the help of guides on the race course. Running was Trelle's first love, but dipping her toes into a sprint triathlon quickly escalated to doing Half Ironmans. Now she is ready for her biggest athletic challenge yet!
