Best shoe I have worn in years

I’m a huge fan of the quality and performance of Newton shoes and I own a number of pairs that are among my favorites, but the Distance S 13 is exceptional even for Newton.State-of-the-art quality construction and materials and the way Newton shoes balance support with liveliness under foot have made Newtons my go-to shoes. But the Distance S 13 may be the perfect realization of Newton shoes’ best qualities.

For a shoe as light and lively as the Distance S 13 is, the control it offers on either roads or gravel trails is unbeatable. Without compromising by adding a little weight to provide guidance or sacrificing stability for a lighter feel, the Distance S 13 legitimately feels like a shoe to race in, but also a shoe that can handle heavy miles on road surfaces.
Within the first weeks of my purchase of the Distance S 13s, I took them for a long-ish run—check—and then slipped them on for a local Turkey Trot 5k—another check. Both times they felt like the perfect shoe to be wearing for that run.

I wear a lot of different shoes because I enjoy testing out their different features and feel. I’ve also worn my share of “super-shoes” and learned to enjoy the energy return of well-designed carbon-plated shoes. When I tell you the Distance S 13 might open your eyes to the possibility that a shoe without a carbon-fiber plate could provide you with a better road feel, support, and pop than many of those shoes, I don’t say that lightly.

Give the Newton Distance S 13 a try; I’m sure you won’t be disappointed.

Recently purchased these for some speed and distance improvement in the heat. In extreme heat/dry/humid conditions the well ventilated shoes kept my feet comfortable. Extremely stable underfoot and a pleasure to run 2-12mi in!

Newton Distance S 13

Just did my first 70.3 Ironman of the year in the Newton Distance S 13. Had the fastest run in my age group and the group below my age group. I have run in Newtons for 12 plus years . These were the most comfortable and help me earn the 70.3 Ironman World Championship in New Zealand in December. That was my goal and they helped me get it!
