Newton to Run Natural Running Symposium on July 31st in Seven Fields, PA

Over the past year, the running industry and the national news media have been abuzz debating the merits of barefoot running and minimalist shoes. Newton Running, a pioneer in the ‘natural running revolution’ hopes to shed some light on the debate with a national series of free symposia focused on running biomechanics, shoe technology and running injury prevention, led by a group of expert running coaches, athletes and doctors. The latest stop in the national tour is in Seven Fields, PA and will take place on July 31st.

“There’s a tremendous amount of discussion, confusion and misinformation in the running world right now about running form and shoe design,” states Newton co-founder, Jerry Lee. “We want to help educate runners about the benefits of proper form, choosing proper running shoes and preventing common running injuries.”

At 4 p.m. on Saturday, July 31st at Second Sole in Seven Fields, PA, Newton Running is hosting the latest Natural Running Symposium. The seminar is free and open to the public and features Newton's R&D/Education director and adventure racing world champion Ian Adamson speaking about biomechanics, injury prevention and running shoe design. After the presentation he will run a form clinic and give individual coaching on gait.

The first 30 people to attend will receive a gift bag and everyone will be entered into a drawing for a new pair of shoes.

What's the Buzz?

  • Just a few lines to let you know that I had a wonderful race in San Sebastian marathon (Spain) two weeks ago. I ran in 2:30 in my Newton shoes. I'm from the Basque country in Spain and everybody is asking me what shoes are these. I'm the first guy running in these shoes around here. I've done all my previous long runs wearing them and cushioning is just exceptional. I had No blisters or signs of a marathon after the race. Obviously I'm ready for a new pair for my next event. Congratulations you've got a great weapon for runners.
